He now just plays with the figures and pretends with them. The computer game is just "Blah." Shrug your shoulders and buy something else. My son begged for this for his birthday, and he was disappointed. He is 7, so maybe an older child would like this.
Don't buy it. The support person did not have a 64 bit solution. All of my computers are Vista 64 bit machines. When I called Mattel help regarding this, they tried to blame it on Microsoft and the Operating System. It does not work on Vista 64 bit. My daughter received a Funkeys starter kit for her birthday. When I went to install it, I learned that it does not install on a Vista 64 bit machine. Looking on the various forums, this has been a reported problem for YEARS.So warning to all purchasing this toy.
Stick with Club Penguin. He was extremely disappointed. $50.00. Then we found out that they wanted REAL MONEY to buy virtual upgrades and access to new areas. He played with it for two days and went through all of the games, quickly getting bored with it. I purchased a Funkeys starter kit for my 10-year-old son, price $21. So when he was offered a "free download" which allowed him to visit new areas of Funkeystown, he was very excited. Can you believe it.
It has a very cute appearance but didn't seem to hold my 9 year old son's attention for very long. I believe Best Buy is no longer carrying this toy and now I see why. He said it was 'just o.k.'
This is crap.If you value your own time, buy your kids a real product not a joke like this. Their phone support is conveniently inaccessible. Their online support is non-existant. But come on, 2.5 hours of work and still no functionality. Let's see, I'm a 6/10 on technical competance (and modest). I've now spent 2.5 hours installing the software and "patches" for this product, and I'm nowhere. The documentation is useless.I suppose, if you are able to get this product running it may be a decent product.
